History
Southern
Maryland BMX, Inc. opened June 2005 after three years of planning and a
year to construct. Many well known Contractors, businesses and Government officials
as well as volunteers suported this project through monetary donations,
contractor services and fundraising efforts. Southern Maryland BMX, Inc. is
a non-profit organization that offers individuals of all ages the
opportunity to compete at local, state and national levels. Races are
structured by age and class. Classes are Novice (Beginner), Intermediate or
Expert. In 2008 BMX racing will be worldly recognized in the 2008 Olympics.
If you would like to become a sponsor of Southern Maryland BMX or would
just like to volunteer please contact a Board member to see how you can
become involved with promoting this up and coming sport.

Directions
Baltimore area- Take I-95 south to 495 (the
D.C. Beltway) and continue southbound on 495. Take the exit for Rt 210
south (Indian Head Highway).
Continue headed south on Rt 210, take left exit to Waldorf (Rt 228). Follow
to Waldorf, go right on Rt 301 past La Plata. Take a left onto Rt 234 south
(toward Leonardtown) and the track is 2.1 miles south of Maryland
International Raceway, in Chaptico
Recreation Park.
The park is on the left. Follow the park entrance to the concession stand,
and the track is on the left. Annapolis
area- Take 97 south to Rt 301 south and follow Rt 301 through Waldorf and
LaPlata. Take a left onto Rt 234 south (toward Leonardtown) and the track
is 2.1 miles south of Maryland International Raceway, in Chaptico park. The
park is on the left. Follow the park entrance to the concession stand, and
the track is on the left. Lower
Calvert County-
Take Rt 4 south to Leonardtown. Make a right onto Rt 5 and proceed through
Leonardtown. Take a left onto Rt 234 north. Once in Chaptico, continue
approximately 1.5 miles past the circular bypass and make a right into Chaptico Park. Follow the park entrance to
the concession stand, and the track is on the left.
